Hand Painted Tencel
Hand Painted Tencel - a
laceweight yarn (32 WPI) with saturated color, the high sheen and hand
of silk without the price!
Put-up is in two sizes: a
8 oz./1680 yd. skein,
ample yardage for a laceweight shawl and a
1.5 oz./325 yd. skein for smaller projects.
Yarn spun from 8/2 Tencel fiber
is a natural yarn manufactured from wood by-products in an environmentally friendly method. Tencel has a heavy drape, wonderful sheen
and silky hand and natural, cool comfort of cotton. When finished it
has a peach fuzz-type appearance and hand.
Tencel is equally
suited for weaving, knitting and crocheting. Weave a scarf
or shawl with this yarn and receive "the weaver's handshake!"
Suggested weaving sett is 20-30 EPI. Use one of the complementary mill dyed
colors in
8/2 tencel for weft. Knitted stitches
over lace average from 6-1/2-7 per inch on a size 5 U.S. needle.
I've not crocheted with this yarn but many have with dramatic
results.
