The 8 oz./1680 yd. skeins are for you if you're looking for luxury and are on a budget.  There is ample yardage for a laceweight shawl or warp and weft for a handwoven scarf.  Or knit two to three scarves with one skein of yarn - one for yourself and two friends.

See chart below for weaving project yarn requirements.    For more tips on weaving with tencel see Issue #4 of Heritage Yarns Newsletter.

See Tencel Facts for other nice-to-know things about tencel.

"I received my order yesterday and once again, I am thrilled!!!!  All the fibers I have purchased from you have been superb quality and such rich colors!  I can't wait to start the Heartstrings shrug using the Bird of Paradise as the "smooth fine" yarn required.  The other is a natural colored bumpy Irish "lace" yarn.  I'm taking a trip to Ireland in the Fall, so I thought something "Irish" would be a perfect project to take with me.  Of course, I will have to seek out yarn sources or a skein or two to bring home directly from Ireland.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for the speedy delivery and for another beautiful bundle of yarn!!!  Oh, and the two project bags were such a wonderful surprise!!!  You are the BEST!!!!" ~ Susan Swanson

"I received the yarn yesterday and I was overwhelmed when I opened the box.  Your work is exquisite.  I am so pleased - it was well worth the wait.

Thank you so very much!!" ~ Jeannie W.

Click here to see close-up of Margaret Dionne's doubleweave scarf."Hi Margaret,

I bought your Taupe and Tallahatchee Bridge tencel with no project in mind. Then I saw the scarf in doubleweave in the May/June '07 issue of "Handwoven" and knew it was the perfect project for such beautiful yarn!

Went to Fletcher Farm School for Arts and Crafts for a week to use their 8 harness loom and after 44  hours had a beautiful scarf.

Thought you'd like to see pics of my scarf.

Thanks for providing such beautiful hand painted tencel."

Handwoven scarf in Blueberry Hill by Jane Yelvington"A few years ago I bought some 8/2 tencel in Blueberry Hill, and used it in the differential shrinkage scarf that was published in "Handwoven."  I had quite a bit of the yarn left, and just used it to weave this scarf.  The warp is black 8/2 tencel and the pattern is a modified plaited twill.  ...the hand & drape are wonderful, and I think you can see the shimmer of the Blueberry Hill.  It was a birthday gift, and recipient was very pleased.  Thanks for such wonderful yarn!"

What a delight to stumble upon the site of Wovenflame who graciously granted permission to feature her shawl on my site.  It is the Feather and Fan Shawl by Eugen Beugler from A Gathering of Lace by Meg Swansen.  The beads in the edging (shown far right) are her own innovation.  The yarn is Majesty 8/2 tencel shown above.  Beautiful job!  Be sure to visit Wovenflame to see her other beautiful creations.
