Hand painted River rayon seed shown in Tallahatchee Bridge

River rayon seed

This super simple shawl pattern is easily adaptable with any weight yarn and to any length desired.  It can serve as a very warm shawl or a very small neck accessory.  The shape spirals so that it stays well on the shoulders.

Instructions are given for three general yarn categories:  bulky, medium and fine gauge.  Yardage and needles vary according to the yarn chosen.  You can knit a 36" length with approximately 2250 yards.  A 36" length in bulky weight yarn requires 1575 yards.

My shoulder wrap is shown top/left and was knit with one strand of Day's End hand painted 8/2 tencel and one strand of eggplant mill dyed 8/2 tencel available in a kit at Spiral Nebula Shawl Knitting Kit.
