head covering. Wear to a formal affair draped on your shoulders or
pulled up over the head for dress-up warmth. The beads knitted
into each end of the tube add extra sparkle and allure.
2 sizes - 22" [25-½"]
circumference and 17" [18]" length, 275 [350] yards laceweight
or fingering weight yarn; 108 [126] glass knitting beads, 5-½ sts./in.,
size 6 U.S./4.0 mm.

Flared Lace Smoke Ring - #A49
An all-time
favorite HeartStrings smoke ring. The shaping in the pattern
creates the flare on the bottom of the smoke ring. This is a versatile,
elegant accessory that may be worn as a cowl, as shown, or as a head
covering.
Pattern is for one size with finished measurements of 28" around
at the flared bottom and decreasing to 22"; 18" long.
Laceweight or fingering weight yarn, approximately 350
yards. Size 6 U.S./4 mm circular needle or size to obtain
planned gauge, in 16" - 24" length.
Gauge: 6 st./in. over pattern stitch (approximately
equivalent to 5-1/2 st. over stockinette.

elegant, versatile accessory from HeartStrings that can be worn as a
dressy cowl or wimple.
Knitted on
circular needles for a seamless tube. Although this pattern looks
complicated, the stitch pattern is relatively easy and easy to remember.
Sized for Small[Medium,Large].
Planned finished measurements: Circumference - 22-¼ [24, 25-¾]";
Length - 17 [18, 19]";. Allow 525 [600, 680] yards of lace or
fingering weight yarn. Both charted and written stitch instructions
are included.

The style of this
smoke ring features a wide scallop-edged yoke that decreases
gradually into a tube. This makes a versatile accessory that can
be worn as a draped neckline, or with the tube pulled over the
head as an elegant hood-type head covering.
Pattern includes tips
for using yarn that has been pre-strung and plied with beads so
that every bead will show to fullest effect.
Instructions for 3
sizes: adult small [medium, large]. Finished yoke edge
circumference of 34[36, 38]"; upper tube circumferences of
22[24, 26]"; length of 18". Made in coordinating yarns
with similar DK/worsted weight gauges: main yarn (M) -
230[250, 280] yds., and accent yarn (B) that is pre-strung and
plied with beads - 80[90, 110] yds.
