River Rayon Seed
Add dramatic texture, sheen
and drape to your next weaving or knitting project with River.
This hand
painted 100% rayon seed yarn is one that I once painted and brought out
of retirement by popular demand as there is no other yarn quite like it.
River is a little
slippery but the seeds help hold it in place in many structures
especially in semi-knotted knitted structures or garter stitch
as shown below in the
Spiral Nebula Shawl designed and knitted by Jackie E-S of
HeartStrings FiberArts. Plan to wind by hand and control
with a yarn bra or stocking foot. A bamboo or wooden
needle also helps although I find my Denise needles work just
fine.
This yarn would be a
great complement to HeartStrings

three yarns of different textures and sheen. Select from
the following laceweight yarns to go with River rayon seed:
River rayon seed is an
excellent weft yarn and will add texture, drape and sheen with a 100%
cotton warp like
Premier 5/2. See
