"Wow!  You are fast!  I received my patterns two days ago, only two days after ordering them!  You must understand what it is like to wait for that great pattern you just found and can't wait to start on!  Thank you."  --Paige

Perle Cotton - Mill Dyed

Perle cotton has been a basic for hand weavers and knitters for many, many years.  It is equally suited for warp yarn, weft or knitting.  Versatile and affordable.

5/2 Perle Cotton

5/2 Perle Cotton

is a laceweight yarn.  Wraps per inch = 28.  Suggested knitting gauge is 5-1/2 st./in. over stockinette on a size 4 U.S. needle.

Suggested weaving sett is 12 epi for plain weave and 18 epi for twill.

Add extra zip with hand painted Premier 5/2 cotton, a pre-mercerized cotton in the same size as the 5/2 perle cotton shown here.  Use one as a warp yarn and the other for weft.

Or knit two ends together to add bulk to your knitted item.  Suggested needle size will be larger than when knit singly and gauge will be less stitches per inch.  A fun sweater for this is the 3-to-2 Any Gauge Sweater that is designed for any yarn and for any size.
