Heritage Yarns Newsletter #43
Early Fall Knitting and
Weaving
August 10, 2007
Hello!
Lots of new things
happening at Heritage Yarns and, as a newsletter subscriber, I would
like for you to be first to know.
The first, most obvious
change is the new format for the newsletter which you should receive in
a more timely, efficient manner so that you may receive announcements of
new products and take advantage of special offers.
In addition to being
timely, the new format will allow you to print out a version if there is
a special fiber article you would like to keep.
And finally, the Gift
Register, a free way to remind yourself of upcoming birthdays or
anniversaries. This new feature is located at the
Newsletter Archives page. You may enter as many dates as you
choose and select the time you would like to be reminded.
On to more news of What's
New here at Heritage Yarns.
Dyeing for your knitting
and weaving pleasure,
Margaret

Jaggerspun Zephyr 2/18
I'm in love with
Jaggerspun Zephyr 2/18! It started out as a weaving yarn but many who love
knitting lace have found this 50% Silk Tussah/50% Merino laceweight yarn
to be a favorite.

The yardage goes a long way
and for that reason, the -put-up is on 500 yd. skeins so that you can
pick and choose - or not - as the price is so low you may want them all!
Yardage of most hand knit lace scarves is 500 or under.
Six more colors have just
been added to the Heritage Yarns collection. New are Marine Blue
shown on the left, Elderberry, Lady Slipper, Mulberry, Sage and Steel.
And they have arrived in time to start your fall knitting and weaving
for Christmas and other gift-giving occasions. Consider Lady
Slipper for a scarf for breast cancer awareness month or choose Ruby for
a scarf donation to
HeartScarves.
HeartStrings
Lead or Follow Lace Scarf is available in a kit and features
Jaggerspun Zephyr 2/18. Several other HeartStrings lace
scarves are also well-suited for this beautiful laceweight yarn.
Yarn suggestions and yardage are shown with each scarf.
Suggested needle size for
Zephyr 2/18 is size 4-6 U.S. If you've ever been hesitant to knit
lace because of small needles or a fine grist yarn, try it today and be
pleasantly surprised as to how much easier it is on your hands than a
bulky yarn with large needles.
Jaggerspun Zephyr 2/18 is a wonderful warp or weft weaving yarn.
If you're using it for a warp, sett at 18 epi for plain weave, 24 for a
simple twill or bump it up a notch for advancing or other fancy twills.
One skein is ample for weft
for a scarf warped with a
painted tencel warp. The sheen and cool nature of the tencel
paired with the semi-sheen of Zephyr is sure to make someone happy on
your gift-giving list.
Enjoy your next knitting or
weaving with
Jaggerspun Zephyr 2/18.
Sincerely,
Margaret Pittman
