This scarf is knit along its
length so that the colors run lengthwise.
Atlantic
Moonglow, a Heritage Yarns colorway whose values are close and
repeats long, will show off this pattern to its greatest advantage and may
even resemble an ocean wave.
The main
stitch pattern has only three different patterned rows so it is easily
memorized and a joy to knit.
Allow approximately 350
yards or 1-1/2-2 oz. (40-60g) of fine yarn in the range of 25 to 30 wraps
per inch for finished blocked measurements of 9" by 71".
Suggested needle size is 4 U.S. (3.5 mm). Gauge = 4-1/4 sts. and 8
rows per inch over lace pattern after blocking under tension. The
scarf size is easily adjusted by working more or less stitch and row
repeats of the main lace pattern. Yardage is high on all of the
suggested yarns. Knit one for yourself and one for a friend!

8/2 tencel - 1.5 oz./325 yd. - 1 skein for a scarf that
is slightly
more narrow.
8/2 tencel knitted singly or doubled
- 8 oz./1680 yds. - Doubling will give a fingering weight and will
require only 1 skein for 2 scarves with 280 yds. remaining for 2
small neckties or 1 sash in
