Diamond Lace Dress-It-Up - #A55
A lacy scarf to dress
up any outfit, the Diamond Lace Dress-It-Up is cast on
lengthwise so that color runs the length of the scarf, giving a
slimming effect. Note the diamond shape that zigzags in
and out toward the borders. The design is a
variation of trellis faggot lace arranged into diamonds with
knitted-to-shape points at each end.
Allow 550 yards of
fingering weight yarn for finished size of 10" X 70".
Suggested needle size: 6 U.S. (4 mm). Gauge:
4-1/2 stitches and 9 rows per inch over stitch pattern after
blocking. The length is easily adjusted for your own taste
with and adjustment of yardage.

Lace
Leaves Scarves - #H38
This scarf
has two different looks in one pattern, each featuring interlinked lace leaves. The
rectangular version of the Lace Leaves Scarf is
knitted from end to end in one piece. It makes up quickly and with very
little yarn - only 150 yards of fingering weight!
The longer, wider
version of Lace Leaves Scarf has
shaped
ends and is knitted in two pieces, then joined at the middle by an
easy method that does not require grafting. Size US 5 (3.75 mm) needles suggested
for average gauge of 5 stitches per inch over blocked lace. Charted and written stitch instructions.
Instructions for two scarf designs
included.
With
a total of only 550 yards of fingering weight yarn, you can knit
two scarves, one for you and a friend.
Need
to stock-pile some gifts? With two or three skeins of
different colorways of
Serenity, you can have a variety of
scarves on-hand.
Serenity is put up on an 8 oz./700
yd. skein, enough for two scarves.
Or
knit
hand painted 8/2 tencel with
mill-dyed 8/2
tencel to equal a fingering weight yarn. Each are
approximately 8 oz. and 1680 yards! Need another
change? Combine the hand painted with a different color of
mill-dyed. For the third scarf, combine the two
mill-dyed.
With
one skein of
hand painted 8/2 tencel and two cones of
mill dyed
8/2 tencel, you will have three different color combinations
and enough yardage for several scarves in two shapes.

Möbius
Zigzag - #A76
This
is an accessory that will cause others to take a second
look. The möbius is simply a rectangle joined in a half
loop. No inside - no outside as the fabric is completely
reversible! What sets the Möbius Zigzag apart from others
is the dramatic zigzag edge. As an option, you may use your
favorite cast-on and binding off method and leave as a
scarf. This is an easy lace pattern that I know you will
enjoy knitting as much as wearing.
Size:
36" loop, 10" overall
width, 200 yards sport or DK weight yarn. 5 sts./in., size 8
U.S./5.0 mm. The pattern adjusts easily in width and length, as well as other yarn weights.
Flexible, easy, and fun!
If there is a knitter on
your gift list, the kit makes a nice gift with the 6.25 oz./400
yd. skein of hand painted rayon boucle, the space-saver version of
the pattern, and an organza-trimmed drawstring kit bag to sit next
to their favorite chair. Yarn suggestions:

| From HeartStrings designer, Jackie
E-S:
The Skinny on Lace long scarf version
shown on the left was knitted in Heritage Yarns
Serenity cotton/rayon in the
colorway,
Atlantic Moonglow.
Serenity comes in a huge skein 8 ounce skein, so there
is plenty to make looooong scarves like this one (8½ feet!) and still
have lots of yarn left over to make something else. I love how this
is scarf is extra-long and can be wrapped and tied in so many ways.
