Each
of the three Heritage hand painted yarns in the kit will be knit
for one row, then the sequence repeated, thus giving lots of
color and textural interaction.
The first yarn shown below, Cloud 9, is slightly textured with a
wonderful hand. The fiber content is 50% cotton/50% rayon
yarn, the best of both worlds, as the dye takes up differently
with each fiber, the rayon having a light sheen playing against
the matte finish of the cotton. It has the added benefit
of a little stretch not found in most cotton/rayon fibers, thus
making it easier on the hands to knit. Put-up/8 oz.
skein/832 yds.
The second yarn in the kit, Premier 5/2, is pre-mercerized 100%
cotton. It has the appearance of unmercerized but has a
softer hand and better dye take-up. Put-up/8 oz.
skein/1050 yds.
Fringe Benefit completes the kit and is 100% rayon chainette
that adds a nice weight and sheen to the wrap. The dye
take-up of this yarn is brilliant. The hand is a little
slippery so you may want to knit with a needle that has a little
grab to it such as wooden, plastic or bamboo. Control with
a yarn bra or trouser sock. Put-up/8 oz./skein/500 yds.
Sized for Small-Medium [Large-Extra Large]. Planned
finished measurement: Length - 25 {29-1/2]"; total width
of panels as measured along diagonals - 63 [77]". 4-1/4
stitches/inch, size U.S. 8/5 mm suggested.
