Dolly Faroese Shawl - #H34

What better way to learn to knit a Faroese shawl than with a pattern for a teddy bear or doll!  The size is suitable for 18" dolls and teddy bears, the perfect little gift for children and collectors alike!

All of the HeartStrings Faroese shawls, including the Dolly Faroese Shawl, are knit from the neck down so that you may get acquainted with your yarn on just a few stitches.  The shaping lends itself to easy wearing as it hugs the shoulders and stays put.

Three variations are included in the pattern.  This basic pattern uses simple yarn over increases to achieve the traditional center back panel, side panels, front bands, and shaped shoulders.

Sizing - for an 18" doll or teddy bear, this shawl is approximately 8" long as measured from center back neck.

Yarn and Needles - Approximately 100 yds. in a fingering weight or a light sportweight yarn for each shawl.  Sz. 8 U.S./5 mm needles of your choice; 4 markers, 1 of which is a different color.

Gauge:  approximately 4 stitches and 6 rows per inch in garter stitch OR 5 stitches and 7 rows per inch in stockinette stitch.
