Menu to purchase hand painted.
Color will vary slightly on
different monitors as well as on different yarns. For example, Premier 5/2
will take up the dye differently than a 100% rayon yarn. Unmercerized or
pre-mercerized yarns like Premier 5/2 will have softer, muted shades whereas rayon dyes
brilliantly in the same colorway.
Hand dyeing gives a depth of
texture and color unavailable in commercially dyed yarns and fibers.
Heritage offers approximately forty colorways in a variety of yarns. If
you don't see an old favorite, check back often as I rotate the colorways for
your interest - and mine. <g>
Color inspiration comes for the most part from our beautiful, lush state of
Mississippi. Colorways like Traces of the Natchez Trace and
Spring at
Rocky Springs were inspired by our wonderful Natchez Trace Parkway. Many
like
Sagebrush are from travels.
Magic Carpet Ride was
inspired by rich Turkish carpets.
The list of
colorways below the collections menu are
"resting," retired or were special editions. This list
was made so that you will know that, yes, it was a Heritage Yarns colorway that
you saw or purchased and
chances are you will see it again. Patrons have been very kind to send
pictures in colorways that aren't currently available.
I hope you enjoy these colorways as
much as I enjoyed designing and creating them and that you are inspired to weave or knit
