Hand Painted Serenity Cotton/Rayon

Hand painted Serenity cotton/rayon by Heritage Yarns, is a high-quality, fingering weight weaving and knitting yarn with a delightful hand.  Also available in natural for your own dyeing.

Serenity is the yarn that was once called simply by its fiber content, 52% cotton/48% rayon.  Since there are more cotton/rayon yarns in the collection now, I thought it best to name it.  And, thank you for voting for the name and the skein size of this wonderful yarn.  The colorways shown are ready for immediate shipment and are priced at $34/8 oz./700 yd. skein.  Natural is priced at $17.

Wraps per inch = 20.  Suggested weaving sett is 10-14 EPI.  See chart below for weaving project yarn requirements.  Knitting gauge is approximately 5 st./in. over stockinette on a size 4-6 U.S. needle.

Weavers and knitters, this is a wonderful shawl-weight yarn.

It is also available in Peaks and Valleys Scarf Knitting Kit in all the colorways shown below.

From HeartStrings designer, Jackie E-S:

"The Skinny on Lace long scarf version shown above was knitted in Serenity cotton/rayon by Heritage Yarns in the colorway Atlantic Moonglow. Serenity comes in a huge 8 ounce skein, so there is plenty to make looooong scarves like this one (8½ feet!) and still have lots of yarn left over to make something else.  I love how this is scarf is extra-long and can be wrapped and tied in so many ways."

From Deborah Cannon

"I love this shawl!!!  It's  7'6" long and 21" wide after washing and finishing.  I used the  whole skein of Atlantic Moonglow and dark turquoise 3/2 for the weft. I made a 100 end chain in the middle to Ikat and then two (one on each side) 60 end chains to stripe. That way I wasted  less yarn and got the look I wanted."

From Lynn G.

"The beautiful Serenity yarn arrived yesterday afternoon. The Tallahatchee Bridge colorway is just beautiful.  I love it.  You are so creative.  I can't thank you enough for dyeing the yarn.  I am taking a skein to knitting class on Saturday to show it to the other gals.

Thank you again for your wonderful yarn and customer service..."

Deborah Cannon's handwoven scarf woven in Black and Gray in a Rainbow World Serenity

The scarf on the left was handwoven by Deborah Cannon on a rigid heddle loom in Black and Gray in a Rainbow World Serenity.  She used black 3/2 perle cotton for the weft.  Striking, Deborah!

HeartStrings Sweaters - a variety from which to choose.Chevron Lace Gardens is one of Jackie E-S's designs.  She knitted the natural with Serenity and used handspun cotton yarn for the variegated waves.  Almost any colorway of Serenity would work equally as well.  Choose one that reminds you of a walk through a garden.
