Black and Gray in a Rainbow
World This
colorway was created for those of you looking for a more neutral
palette. Need something for the office or a gentleman's
scarf? Pair a scarf made with this colorway with almost
anything - basic black, brown, khaki, gray or taupe.
Subtle shifts in
the black and gray areas of blues, greens and eggplant add
interest and depth of texture and color. Colors vary from
silvery, cool grays to warm, golden browns. Click pictures
on the left to see a larger view.
Shown
on the left is a scarf woven by Deborah Cannon on a rigid heddle
loom. She wove a scarf using one skein of Serenity as warp
and 3/2 black perle cotton as weft. Stunning, isn't it?
Here's what Deborah
has to say:
The warp was 8
feet long 12 inches wide. I used black 3/2 perle cotton
for the weft, Black and Gray in a Rainbow World (Serenity) for
the warp. I have a 10-dent reed on my heddle that is 31"
wide. The scarf is 11 inches wide (must have shrunk a
little when I washed it?) and 6 feet long from fringe edge to
fringe edge. The fringe is 4 inches.
Thanks again for
all your help. You have no idea how much.... I am
positive you have spared me months of confusion and frustration
with your tips and advice.
