Knitting Kits
Knitter-friendly,
affordable, hand dyed, lace scarf, shawl and sock kits. Learn to knit
lace easily with these well-written, skill-building patterns by Jackie E-S.
The patterns in these
scarf, shawl and sock knitting kits are ones of which I feel are the easiest
and have been chosen with carefree knitting and affordable
luxury in mind and finished, look to be much more complicated
than they really are. They include lace scarves, shawls
and socks and even a non-lace sock knitted from the toe up.
Enjoy the easy process of knitting
lace and the response you will receive from others when you wear
your beautiful hand knits. You will feel
so proud of your accomplishments as you move from one pattern to
the next, building skills as you go.
For a quick look at what's available, see:
Yarns are hand
dyed, hand painted cotton, rayon and tencel and Jaggerspun Zephyr silk/merino.
There is a good variety of weights, texture and sheen from which
to select.
Enjoy the ebb and flow of color as you knit a lace beauty in luxury yarns
packaged with your budget in mind.
Never
worked from a chart? Not all are charted but ones that are
also have row-by-row directions. And, I think if you ever
work from a chart, you will find that knitting is actually easier
as you don't have to keep your eyes glued to the pattern!
Just a quick glance down and keep knitting!
A
little hint for chart knitting: purchase a magnetic board
where cross-stitch items are available. Place the magnet above
the row on which you are working.
A
little hint for lace knitting: use lots of markers.
Just place markers between repeats. Then, if you feel you
have made an error, count between markers and generally, you can
find the error quickly.
About
ripping out or as most of us call frogging (rip it!): with a
tapestry needle and on a rest row (not a yarnover row), run a
piece of scrap yarn (lifeline) through the loops of that
row. When you need to rip, remove the needle and rip back to
the lifeline. Run your needle back through the loops and
continue knitting from that point.
Give yourself a special treat of
one or more of these lace scarf and shawl kits and discover the joy of
knitting lace.
Happy
Knitting!
