On Cloud 9

September 30, 2005

Hello everyone,

We have been relieved to hear that some of our ROC Day friends in southwestern Louisiana suffered no loss of livestock on their farms from Hurricane Rita and are praying that the remainder of our friends are O.K.

I have been working on a dye project of which a portion will go to aid those affected by the hurricanes.  Look for an announcement soon.

Until we meet again,

Margaret <><

Heritage Yarns is celebrating  a new name for the Cloud yarn - Cloud 9!  As part of the celebration, you will receive a $2 price break on each skein for 9 days, September 30 - October 8.

Knitting gauge is approximately 6-1/2 st./in. on a size 5 U.S. needle.  The yardage is high as a cloud on this lofty yarn or 832 yds. on a 8 oz. skein, enough for two of many laceweight scarves or a shawl.

Suggested weaving sett is 8-12 EPI.  An 8 oz. skein is enough yardage for a narrow woven scarf or warp a little wider and weave off with mill dyed tencel.

Regularly priced at $24/skein, your price for 9 days is only $22 and available in 14 colorways.  Stock up now at Hand Painted Yarns
for gift giving and future projects.

Featured HeartStrings Patterns

Lace Scarf Knitting Patterns - Rectangular     Lace Scarf Knitting Patterns - Other Interesting Shapes     Triangle Shawl Patterns and Other Interesting Shapes

Shown from left in Cloud 9:  Reversible Lace Cables in Atlantic Moonglow, Diamond Lace Dress-It-Up in Rose Garden and Triangles-within-Triangles in Spring at Rocky Springs

These are only 3 of the many HeartStrings patterns suitable for Cloud 9 .  The equal fiber content, 50% cotton/50% rayon, is the best of both worlds for lace knitting.  The cotton content lends a soft, light hand and stabilizes lace patterns whereas the rayon content gives a nice drape and sheen.  Because the two fibers take up dye differently, there is the added benefit of depth of color not available in a yarn of all one fiber.

Currently on the needles is the Triangles-within-Triangles Shawl in Magic Carpet Ride Cloud 9 and the Elegantly Simple Triangular Shawl in Bird of Paradise Cloud 9

To Purchase these and more patterns to delight and inspire, visit the HeartStrings Collection
