Heritage Yarns Newsletter #33
Poll Results Are In
August 12, 2005
Greetings!
I'm always happy to see what fiber
artists are creating with the yarns that I dye. Mary Hunt, Knitlist
Moderator, has knitted three stunning scarves with the silk/rayon
promotional yarn. They are so beautiful that I wanted to share
pictures of them with you.
Poll results are in and shown below;
I thank each one of you who visited and voted. My yarn purchases -
stash? (-: - are based on the yarns you like. I am always happy to
hear your ideas for new yarns and colorways and delighted to receive
pictures of your creations that I can share on the website. Thanks
to each of you as your satisfaction is my desire.
Until we meet again,
Margaret <><

Three Scarves from One Skein

Shown from left:
Clapotis, Short Row Rib and Mary Hunt's version of Sally Melville's Short
Row Scarf
Who wouldn't want to make three
gifts from one skein of yarn? In fact, who wouldn't want to receive
any of the three?! Mary Hunt, Knitlist Moderator, proves it
can be done with the promotional silk/rayon in Day's End colorway.
The Clapotis and Short Row Rib were from free patterns and the third
is Mary's version of Sally Melville's Short Row Scarf. I must make
one of these! Oh, but, no, I can't until I finish one project which
should be soon at the rate I'm going. (-: I'll share pictures
when it's blocked.
There is a limited amount of the
silk/rayon remaining and at only $24/8 oz./1050 yd., you can knit from two
to three scarves with an average cost of $8-$12 each. For best
results, select a garter stitch based pattern due to the heavy rayon
content which offers luxurious drape. Why not a Spiral Nebula from
HeartStrings?
Easy! And, one skein will make a very nice accessory. If you
haven't worked with this wonderful yarn, now's your chance.
There will be no more skeins of this yarn when remaining dyed stock
is gone.
